What a mockery to pray for help when you refuse to utilize the brethren God has put around you! No, they may not be able to resolve your exact problem or give you the answers that you want to hear, but they can be there to provide prayer, wisdom, encouragement, and support in bearing these burdens. It’s a travesty I have been guilty of myself.
We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 1 Thessalonians 5:14
Prayer:
Forgive me, my God, when I have prayed for Your help but yet have refused to utilize the love and support of my brethren. When I do this, I am hindering Your works of admonishment, encouragement, and help. I submit to allow my brethren to partake in my burdens so as to fulfill the command that You have urged us in. Thank You for this fellowship we share in Christ as we patiently face all trials together with the confidence in knowing that no matter what, it is well with our souls! Amen!
