Ministering Spirits

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14

Scriptures like this baffle me yet comfort me.

It baffles me because I can’t comprehend the spiritual world that exists around me. I’m a physical being, and though I try, it’s not always easy to connect with the idea that there are angelic spirits who minister to my needs and the needs of other Christians. How does it happen? When does it happen?

Yet, it comforts me because, since there is a whole spiritual realm I don’t understand, I can have confidence that God sends His angels to help in whatever way His saints need. I don’t know how. I don’t know when. I just know that He does.

And with Jesus reigning as their King, that’s all I need to know.

Prayer:
My God, thank you for angels who minister to those that will inherit salvation. Because I know they are Your special servants and that Jesus is their King, I don’t have to understand how or when they help. I just know that they do, and in the midst of evil forces trying to oppose everything good in this world, I find comfort in knowing that they are among us looking out for our needs. Amen.
