Poem: The Sower

“But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.” Luke 8:15

The sower sows his seed,
Hoping to produce a good crop,
But it doesn’t happen that way,
Most of them will flop.

Some fell beside the road,
Trampled where birds will eat.
The devil takes it away,
A heart left in defeat.

Some fell on rocky soil,
No moisture it’s growth decay;
With no firm root to stay strong,
Temptatations drove it away.

Some fell among thorns,
Choked out by its pursuit;
For worries, riches, and pleasures,
Don’t produce mature fruit.

Some fell among good ground,
And produced a crop so great.
With an honest and good heart,
Perseverance yields a fruitful state.

Luke 8:5-15

Prayer:
Your word is a seed, oh my God; a seed that I sow daily with the opportunities I am given. Help me to be an effective sower so that I will diligently seek that good ground, but never let me be discouraged as I understand that not all soil is good. Guide me as I persevere in all things to bear much fruit for Your glory. Amen.

Truth in love,
Heather
