Sunday Reflection: A New Age

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20

This is it. The end of one era and the beginning of a new one. Jesus has completed His work of redemption here on earth, and now it is time for His disciples to take the lead in teaching the nations under His authority. Jesus has already turned the world upside down, but it’s about to get even more prominent. His influence and story is only going to grow bigger and bigger. More and more people will believe in His coming, and even though there are forces that continue to try to demolish these efforts, God will prove time and time again to be mightier than those dark forces.

Watch out world. A Savior has been born, died, and resurrected. A new age is upon us…the gospel age. An age in which Jesus has given access to an eternal resting place by cleansing our sins. His disciples are ready to share this good news of hope to make disciples of all the nations. Have you heard, believed, and been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit? Have you turned from your previous life to observe all that Jesus has commanded? If not, why not?

Prayer:
Our Father, how blessed we are to live in a time where we have full hope of redemption through Christ. He came to earth, died, and was resurrected according to Your plan. You loved us so much that You sent a Savior to demonstrate that love. Jesus gave His closest disciples the command to go teach this story of love. They are the forerunners and examples to the disciples that live today. As Your faithful servants, we will continue to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things Jesus has commanded. This is the great commision, and we are grateful to be a part of this most important work knowing that Jesus is with us every step of the way. All praise and honor be to You, most holy God, for Your plan that overcomes all evil for a greater eternal life. Amen.
