Proverbial Family: Special Series

To know wisdom and instruction
To discern the sayings of understanding
To receive instruction in wise behavior
Righteousness, justice and equity
To give prudence to the naïve
To the youth knowledge and discretion
Proverbs 1:2-4

Wisdom, instruction, understanding, prudence, knowledge, and discretion….these are just a short list of words that define the book of Proverbs. With such words emphasizing its overwhelming value, what better place to look to learn how to daily navigate our lives.

I’ve been wanting to write more posts in relation to the family, namely marriage and parenting. And so, I’m going to begin a special series called “Proverbial Family” that focuses on Proverbs as a resource for enhancing family instruction and relationships.

As I read through Proverbs, I will be highlighting some key verses that inspire me to address specific issues or concepts within the family. These may be from personal experience or from things I’ve observed, but my prayer and desire is that what I write will be relatable, usuable, convicting, and empowering.

I also encourage you as my reader to share your experiences, struggles, and understanding as we learn how to apply God’s wisdom in the daily grind of family life.

Looking forward to it!

Prayer:
Our Father, You have designed the special relationships we have through marriage and parenting, so it is You we look to to find wisdom on how to best sustsain those relationships. Thank you for the Proverbs You gave to Solomon to help us in our day to day lives. We look to them for guidance in creating godly homes. Amen.

Truth in love,
Heather
