You Will Die

Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed; then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

You will die. Maybe you don’t want to hear that but let me say it again….YOU WILL DIE!

How do you feel about that? Are you scared, concerned, do you even give it a second thought?

Maybe you’re young and think, “I have plenty of time to think about that.”

But do you? Do you know the day and hour of your death?

Face it. YOU WILL DIE!

You CAN NOT escape it so what are you going to do about it?

Maybe you think there’s nothing you can do about it because it’s inevitable. And you would be right to an extent.

However, you CAN live your life preparing for your death which is the gateway to your eternity. What will that be? Well, it’s up to you.

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep his commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13–14

Now you decide.

Prayer:
My Creator, when I am young and if ever I am old, I will remember You. In all my days I will fear You and keep Your commandments. I do not neglect the fact that I will die one day. It is this lingering, inevitable fate that forces me to consider my ways. Before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, I will love You. Before the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed, I will serve You. Before my body becomes dust and my spirit returns to You, I will praise You. In all that I do, each and every day, I will live to glorify You. Amen.

Truth in love,
Heather
