The older I get it seems the most important things become clearer while the least important, which had once seemed so black-and-white, have become foggy.
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Prayer:
When I was young, there were vain things I would earnestly contend for like they were of the utmost importance. Yes, there are many things valuable to enhance the physical life, but You, my Redeemer, have shown me the gospel of the Christ which surpasses all in importance. May I never arrogantly contend again for things that would hinder the spread of this good news, but with love, firmly hold fast to the truth by which we are saved….the death, burial, and resurrection of my Lord and Savior! Amen!
Truth in love,
Heather
