A Special Thanksgiving

For eight Thanksgivings I have not been able to enjoy the food. But not this year. My progress in overcoming some big issues with eating has led to this special day. A day I have been waiting for for nine years. To be free from eating the same food every day just to survive is mind blowing. I thought I was doomed, but God has blessed me with the means to get past it.

Today’s a reminder to truly be thankful for the blessings in life no matter how big or small, and that sometimes things really can get better even if you think there’s no hope. I still have much to overcome physically, but today I’m grateful for whatever measure of health I’m granted trusting that God will grant whatever victories I need in His time.

Now bring on the turkey and dressing!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Prayer:
My trustworthy Father, all thanksgivings of this day belong to You. You’re the one who provides the victory in all of life’s hardships. Thank you for the celebrations and food we will have today and those we get to enjoy it with. Thank you that there was a time in our American history where different people from different places came together to help each other through difficult times. May we emulate such examples of charity all by the love of Christ Jesus, amen.

Truth in love,
Heather
