But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
Who do you want to be and what perspective will get you there?
To live out your vision of a Christian by loving the Lord your God with your whole heart, soul, and mind will require complete submission to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires by living and walking by the fruit of the Spirit. How you see things in your daily perspectives will tremendously impact your success in this. This is why you must constantly test your perspectives against the fruit of the Spirit.
Are you experiencing hate or dislike? What focus in perspective brings about love? Are you struggling with self-control? What focus in perspective will bring temperance? Are you being impatient? What focus in perspective will provoke you to be longsuffering?
Testing your perspectives in this way will help you identify what is helping or hindering you to crucify the flesh and walk by the Spirit. It’s not easy, and it doesn’t come natural. However, with diligent, consistent effort to retaylor your perspectives, you will be transforming yourself to become one with God, Jesus, and the Spirit. In complete devotion to God, decide this is who you want to be and fight to learn the right godly perspectives to get you there.
Prayer:
Father, I want to live a life that is fully pleasing to You so I will consistently test myself by the fruit of the Spirit. I know my perspectives greatly influence this. Even though I may not feel like it, I will find the focus in godly perspective that eventually brings me to love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This is how I crucify the flesh. This is how I live and walk by the fruit of the Spirit. This is how I completely devote my life to You to become one with You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Truth in love,
Heather
